North Vietnamese government
The North Vietnamese government was the political authority in North Vietnam from 1954 until the end of the Vietnam War in 1975. It was led by the Communist Party of Vietnam and aimed to unify the country under a communist regime. The government was characterized by a centralized economy and strict control over political dissent.
During the war, the North Vietnamese government received support from the Soviet Union and China, which provided military and economic assistance. Its leadership, including figures like Ho Chi Minh, focused on national independence and socialist reforms, ultimately leading to the reunification of Vietnam after the war.
