Nonuya
Nonuya is an indigenous group located in the Amazon rainforest, primarily in Colombia. They are part of the larger Tucanoan linguistic family and have their own distinct language, also called Nonuya. Traditionally, the Nonuya people engage in subsistence farming, fishing, and hunting, relying on the rich biodiversity of their environment.
The Nonuya community has faced challenges due to deforestation and encroachment on their land by agriculture and mining industries. Efforts are being made to preserve their culture and language, as well as to protect their ancestral territories from external threats.
