Nigella damascena
Nigella damascena, commonly known as love-in-a-mist, is an annual flowering plant belonging to the Ranunculaceae family. It is native to southern Europe and parts of Asia, characterized by its delicate, feathery foliage and striking blue or white flowers. The plant typically grows to about 30-60 cm in height and blooms from late spring to early summer.
The flowers of Nigella damascena are unique, surrounded by a whorl of finely divided leaves, giving them a misty appearance. After flowering, the plant produces seed pods that are often used in floral arrangements. The seeds are also edible and have culinary uses in some cultures, adding flavor to dishes.
