Ngakarimojong
The Ngakarimojong are an ethnic group primarily found in northeastern Uganda, particularly in the Karamoja region. They are part of the larger Karamojong community, which shares cultural and linguistic ties with neighboring groups such as the Turkana in Kenya. The Ngakarimojong primarily speak the Ngakarimojong language, a dialect of the Karamojong language, which belongs to the Nilotic language family.
Traditionally, the Ngakarimojong are pastoralists, relying on livestock such as cattle, goats, and sheep for their livelihood. Their culture is rich in customs and rituals, often centered around cattle herding and community gatherings. The Ngakarimojong also engage in agriculture, growing crops like sorghum and millet, which complement their pastoral lifestyle.
