New Zealand Fur Seal
The New Zealand Fur Seal, also known as the Australian Fur Seal, is a marine mammal native to the coasts of New Zealand and surrounding regions. These seals are characterized by their external ear flaps, thick fur, and streamlined bodies, which help them swim efficiently. Adults can weigh between 50 to 200 kilograms and typically measure around 1.8 to 2.5 meters in length.
New Zealand Fur Seals primarily feed on fish, squid, and crustaceans. They are known for their playful behavior and can often be seen basking on rocky shores or swimming in the ocean. Conservation efforts are in place to protect their habitats and ensure their populations remain stable.
