Neuroblastomas
Neuroblastomas are a type of cancer that primarily affects children, usually under the age of 5. This cancer develops from immature nerve cells called neuroblasts, which are found in the adrenal glands and other areas of the body. Neuroblastomas can form tumors in these locations and may spread to other parts of the body, including lymph nodes, bones, and the brain.
The exact cause of neuroblastomas is not well understood, but certain genetic factors may increase the risk. Symptoms can vary widely and may include abdominal pain, a lump in the abdomen, or changes in behavior. Treatment options often involve a combination of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.
