Nervii
The Nervii were a powerful Celtic tribe that inhabited the region of present-day Belgium during the late Iron Age and early Roman period. They were known for their fierce warrior culture and played a significant role in the conflicts between the Romans and various Gallic tribes.
In 57 BCE, the Nervii famously resisted the Roman general Julius Caesar during the Gallic Wars. Despite their initial success in battle, they ultimately faced defeat, which led to the incorporation of their territory into the expanding Roman Empire. Their legacy is remembered as part of the complex history of Gaul.
