Nepal Communist Party
The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) was a major political party in Nepal formed in 2018 through the unification of two factions: the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre). The party aimed to promote socialist policies and strengthen the country's economy while addressing social issues.
In 2021, the NCP faced internal conflicts, leading to a split and the formation of rival factions. This division highlighted the challenges of maintaining unity within the party and the broader context of Nepal's political landscape, which has seen various shifts since the end of the monarchy in 2008.
