Nazari Dynasty
The Nazari Dynasty was a Muslim dynasty that ruled the Kingdom of Granada in southern Spain from 1238 to 1492. It was established by Muhammad I, who became the first king after the Reconquista began. The dynasty is known for its rich cultural contributions, particularly in architecture, literature, and science, with the famous Alhambra palace being a notable example of their artistic achievements.
The Nazari Dynasty faced constant pressure from the Christian kingdoms of Castile and Aragon. Despite their efforts to maintain independence through alliances and diplomacy, the dynasty ultimately fell in 1492 when Granada was captured by the Catholic Monarchs, Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile. This marked the end of Muslim rule in Spain.
