Naxi language
The Naxi language is a Sino-Tibetan language spoken by the Naxi people in Yunnan province, China. It is primarily used in the Lijiang area and has around 300,000 speakers. The language is known for its unique writing system, which incorporates a combination of pictographs and ideograms.
Naxi is classified into several dialects, with the Naxi script being one of the few remaining pictographic writing systems in the world. The language is an important part of the Naxi culture, reflecting their history, traditions, and beliefs. Efforts are being made to preserve it as younger generations increasingly adopt Mandarin Chinese.
