Nawab of Bengal
The Nawab of Bengal was a title given to the rulers of the Bengal region in India during the 18th century. These leaders were often appointed by the Mughal Empire and held significant power and wealth. The most famous Nawab was Siraj ud-Daulah, who ruled from 1756 to 1757 and is known for his conflict with the British East India Company.
The Nawabs played a crucial role in the history of Bengal, especially during the period of colonial expansion. Their reign saw the rise of trade and culture, but also led to conflicts, such as the Battle of Plassey in 1757, which marked the beginning of British dominance in India.
