National Rural Health Mission
The National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) is an initiative launched by the Government of India in 2005. Its primary goal is to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to the rural population, especially vulnerable groups. The mission focuses on strengthening healthcare infrastructure, enhancing service delivery, and improving health indicators in rural areas.
NRHM aims to address various health issues, including maternal and child health, communicable diseases, and nutrition. It promotes community participation and encourages the involvement of local health workers, such as ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist), to ensure effective healthcare outreach and education in rural communities.
