National Medical Commission
The National Medical Commission (NMC) is an Indian regulatory body established in 2019 to oversee medical education and practice in India. It aims to ensure the quality of medical education, improve healthcare delivery, and promote transparency in the medical profession. The NMC replaces the previous regulatory body, the Medical Council of India (MCI), and is responsible for setting standards for medical colleges and conducting assessments.
The NMC consists of various members, including medical professionals and representatives from the government. It also has the authority to grant recognition to medical institutions and regulate the medical curriculum. By doing so, the NMC seeks to enhance the overall healthcare system in India and ensure that medical practitioners are well-trained and competent.
