The National Liberation Front (NLF), also known as the Viet Cong, was a political and military organization in Vietnam that fought against the South Vietnamese government and its American allies during the Vietnam War. Established in 1960, the NLF aimed to unify Vietnam under a communist government and was supported by the North Vietnamese government.
The NLF employed guerrilla warfare tactics and gained significant support from rural populations in South Vietnam. Their efforts contributed to the eventual withdrawal of American forces and the reunification of Vietnam in 1975, leading to the establishment of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
