National Institutes of Technology (NITs)
The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are a group of autonomous public technical and research universities in India. Established to promote higher education in engineering and technology, they offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. Each NIT is linked to the Ministry of Education and follows a common admission process for undergraduate courses through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main.
There are currently 31 NITs across India, each known for its academic excellence and research contributions. They play a significant role in developing skilled engineers and technologists, contributing to the country's growth in various sectors, including information technology and manufacturing.
