NITs
The National Institutes of Technology, or NITs, are a group of autonomous public engineering colleges in India. Established to promote higher education in engineering and technology, they offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. NITs are known for their rigorous academic standards and are among the top choices for aspiring engineers in the country.
There are currently 31 NITs across India, each functioning under the Ministry of Education. Admission to undergraduate programs is primarily through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, while postgraduate admissions are based on the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
