National Earthquake Information Center
The National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC) is a part of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) that monitors and reports on seismic activity in the United States and around the world. Established in 1966, the NEIC provides real-time data on earthquakes, helping to assess their impact and improve public safety.
The center collects and analyzes seismic data from a global network of sensors. It also issues alerts and maintains a comprehensive database of past earthquakes, contributing to research and education on earthquake preparedness and response.
