Nasal Cartilage
Nasal cartilage is a flexible connective tissue that forms the structure of the nose. It provides shape and support while allowing for some movement. This cartilage is primarily made up of a type called hyaline cartilage, which is smooth and resilient, helping to maintain the nose's form.
There are two main types of nasal cartilage: the septal cartilage, which divides the nasal cavity into two nostrils, and the alar cartilage, which shapes the outer part of the nose. Together, these cartilages play a crucial role in both the appearance and function of the nose, aiding in breathing and airflow.
