Narmer Palette
The Narmer Palette is an ancient Egyptian artifact dating back to around 3100 BCE. It is made of green schist and is about 64 centimeters tall. The palette is significant for depicting the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt under the rule of King Narmer, who is often considered the first pharaoh of a unified Egypt.
The front side of the palette shows Narmer wearing the crown of Upper Egypt, while the back features him in the crown of Lower Egypt. The intricate carvings illustrate scenes of conquest and ritual, highlighting the importance of this object in understanding early Egyptian history and the establishment of the Dynastic Period.
