Napoleonic France
Napoleonic France refers to the period during which Napoleon Bonaparte rose to power following the French Revolution. From 1799 to 1815, he established a centralized government, implemented legal reforms through the Napoleonic Code, and expanded French territory across Europe. His rule marked significant changes in French society and governance.
During this time, France became a dominant military power, engaging in a series of conflicts known as the Napoleonic Wars. These wars involved various coalitions of European nations opposing Napoleon's expansionist ambitions. Ultimately, his defeat in 1815 at the Battle of Waterloo led to his exile and the restoration of the monarchy in France.
