Nanzhao
Nanzhao was a historical kingdom that existed from the 9th to the 13th centuries in what is now Yunnan province, China. It was established by the Bai people and became a significant political and cultural center in the region. Nanzhao played a crucial role in trade and cultural exchanges between China, Southeast Asia, and Tibet.
The kingdom was known for its unique blend of Buddhism and local beliefs, which influenced its art and architecture. Nanzhao's capital was located at Dali, which remains an important cultural site today. The kingdom eventually fell to the Mongol Empire in the 13th century, leading to its decline.
