Nadaswaram
The Nadaswaram is a traditional South Indian wind instrument, often played in temples and during festive occasions. It is made from wood and has a long, cylindrical shape, typically measuring around 1.5 to 2 meters in length. The instrument produces a rich, powerful sound that can be heard from a distance, making it ideal for outdoor performances.
Typically accompanied by the tavil, a type of drum, the Nadaswaram is an integral part of Carnatic music and is often used in weddings and religious ceremonies. Its unique sound and cultural significance make it a cherished symbol of Tamil heritage.
