Nadar Caste
The Nadar Caste is a social group primarily found in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Traditionally, they were involved in occupations such as agriculture and trade, particularly in the cultivation of palmyra trees. Over time, many members of the Nadar community have transitioned into various professions, including education and business.
Historically, the Nadar community faced social discrimination, but they have made significant strides in gaining recognition and improving their socio-economic status. Today, they are considered an influential group within the Tamil society, actively participating in politics and social development initiatives.
