NGC_5019
NGC 5019 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Virgo. It is approximately 100 million light-years away from Earth and is part of the Virgo Cluster, which contains many other galaxies.
Discovered by the astronomer Édouard Stephan in 1877, NGC 5019 has a diameter of about 100,000 light-years. Its structure features prominent arms that spiral outward from a central bar, typical of barred spiral galaxies. Observations of NGC 5019 contribute to our understanding of galaxy formation and evolution.
