NGC_2107
NGC 2107 is a bright open cluster located in the constellation of Doradus. It is approximately 49 million light-years away from Earth and is part of the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. The cluster contains several young, hot stars and is estimated to be around 100 million years old.
Discovered by John Herschel in 1834, NGC 2107 is notable for its relatively high concentration of stars within a small area. Observations of this cluster help astronomers understand stellar formation and evolution in different environments, particularly in irregular galaxies like the Large Magellanic Cloud.
