NGC 2107
NGC 2107 is a bright open star cluster located in the constellation of Doradus. It is approximately 49,000 light-years away from Earth and is part of the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. The cluster contains several young, hot stars and is estimated to be around 100 million years old.
Discovered by John Herschel in 1834, NGC 2107 is notable for its rich population of stars and its relatively high concentration of blue supergiants. Observations of this cluster help astronomers understand stellar evolution and the dynamics of star formation in different environments.
