NGC 6870
NGC 6870 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 80 million light-years away in the constellation Pavo. It is notable for its bright central bar structure and well-defined spiral arms, which are characteristic features of this type of galaxy.
Discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834, NGC 6870 is part of a group of galaxies known as the Pavo Group. Its distance and structure make it an interesting subject for astronomers studying galaxy formation and evolution.
