NGC 6880
NGC 6880 is an open star cluster located in the constellation Scutum. It is approximately 4,200 light-years away from Earth and is part of the Milky Way galaxy. The cluster contains several young, hot stars that are primarily blue in color, indicating their high temperatures.
Discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834, NGC 6880 is estimated to be around 10 million years old. It spans about 10 light-years across and is thought to be a relatively loose cluster, making it an interesting subject for studying stellar formation and evolution within our galaxy.
