NGC 6860
NGC 6860 is a bright open star cluster located in the constellation of Scorpius. It is approximately 1,200 light-years away from Earth and contains several young, hot stars. The cluster is estimated to be around 100 million years old, making it relatively young in astronomical terms.
Discovered by John Herschel in 1834, NGC 6860 is notable for its rich concentration of stars, which can be observed through small telescopes. The cluster is part of the Milky Way galaxy and is an excellent example of stellar formation and evolution in action.
