NGC 6859
NGC 6859 is a bright open star cluster located in the constellation of Cygnus. It was discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1788 and is approximately 3,600 light-years away from Earth. The cluster contains several young stars that are relatively hot and luminous, making it an interesting object for astronomers studying stellar formation.
The cluster spans about 20 light-years across and is estimated to be around 100 million years old. NGC 6859 is part of a larger group of stars that share a common origin, providing insights into the dynamics and evolution of star clusters in our galaxy, the Milky Way.
