NGC 2467
NGC 2467 is a bright emission nebula located in the constellation of Puppis. It is approximately 13,000 light-years away from Earth and is part of a larger star-forming region. The nebula is known for its striking appearance, often resembling a cosmic "skull" due to its shape.
This nebula contains a cluster of young, hot stars that illuminate the surrounding gas and dust, causing it to glow. NGC 2467 is also associated with the open cluster NGC 2466, which contributes to the dynamic environment of star formation in this region of space.
