NGC_2466
NGC 2466 is a bright open cluster located in the constellation of Carina. It was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834 and is approximately 1,200 light-years away from Earth. The cluster contains around 50 stars, with its brightest members being blue supergiants.
The age of NGC 2466 is estimated to be about 100 million years, making it relatively young in astronomical terms. It is best observed with binoculars or small telescopes, appearing as a fuzzy patch in the sky. The cluster is part of the Milky Way and contributes to our understanding of stellar evolution.
