NGC 2143
NGC 2143 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 70 million light-years away in the constellation Eridanus. It was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834. The galaxy has a diameter of about 70,000 light-years and is notable for its bright central bar structure.
This galaxy is classified as a type SBc, indicating it has a prominent bar and spiral arms. NGC 2143 is also part of a group of galaxies known as the Eridanus Group, which includes several other galaxies that are gravitationally bound together.
