NGC 2140
NGC 2140 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Lynx. It is approximately 70 million light-years away from Earth and has an apparent magnitude of around 13.5, making it faint and challenging to observe without a telescope.
Discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1788, NGC 2140 is part of a group of galaxies known as the Lynx group. Its structure features a central bar of stars, which is characteristic of barred spiral galaxies, and it exhibits regions of active star formation.
