NGC 1876
NGC 1876 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Taurus. It is approximately 60 million light-years away from Earth and is part of the Lyon-Meudon Extragalactic Database. The galaxy has a diameter of about 100,000 light-years and is notable for its bright central bar structure.
Discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834, NGC 1876 is classified as a type SBbc galaxy, indicating it has a well-defined bar and loosely wound spiral arms. Observations of this galaxy contribute to our understanding of galaxy formation and evolution in the universe.
