NGC 1880
NGC 1880 is an open star cluster located in the constellation Doradus. It is approximately 4,000 light-years away from Earth and is part of the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. The cluster contains several hundred stars, many of which are young and bright.
Discovered by John Herschel in 1834, NGC 1880 is notable for its relatively high concentration of stars compared to other open clusters. Its age is estimated to be around 100 million years, making it a valuable object for studying stellar evolution and the dynamics of star clusters in different environments.
