NGC 1873
NGC 1873 is a bright open star cluster located in the constellation of Lepus. It is approximately 2,000 light-years away from Earth and contains several young, hot stars that are primarily blue in color. The cluster is part of a larger group of stars known as the Lepus constellation.
Discovered by John Herschel in 1834, NGC 1873 is notable for its relatively high concentration of stars within a small area. It is often studied by astronomers to understand the formation and evolution of star clusters in our galaxy, the Milky Way.
