NGC 1866
NGC 1866 is a young star cluster located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. It is situated approximately 160,000 light-years from Earth and is notable for its bright, blue stars, which indicate a relatively recent formation.
Discovered by John Herschel in 1834, NGC 1866 contains several hundred stars and is part of a larger region of star formation. The cluster is about 100 million years old, making it one of the younger clusters in the Large Magellanic Cloud, and it provides valuable insights into stellar evolution and the dynamics of star clusters.
