NGC 1392
NGC 1392 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 65 million light-years away in the constellation Eridanus. It was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1835. This galaxy has a diameter of about 100,000 light-years and is notable for its bright central bar structure, which is characteristic of barred spiral galaxies.
The galaxy is part of a group known as the Eridanus Group, which contains several other galaxies. NGC 1392 exhibits active star formation, particularly in its spiral arms, and is classified as a type SAB(rs)bc galaxy. Its features make it an interesting subject for astronomers studying galaxy formation and evolution.
