NGC 1039
NGC 1039 is a bright open star cluster located in the constellation of Perseus. It is approximately 2,500 light-years away from Earth and contains several hundred stars, many of which are young and hot. The cluster is estimated to be around 100 million years old.
Discovered by William Herschel in 1786, NGC 1039 is part of a larger group of stars that share a common origin. Open clusters like NGC 1039 are important for studying stellar evolution and the dynamics of star formation in our galaxy, the Milky Way.
