NGC 1013
NGC 1013 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 50 million light-years away in the constellation Eridanus. It was discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1784 and is classified as a type SBbc galaxy, indicating its spiral structure with a prominent bar.
The galaxy has an apparent magnitude of about 12.5, making it faintly visible through moderate-sized telescopes. NGC 1013 is part of a group of galaxies known as the Eridanus Group, which includes several other galaxies and is of interest to astronomers studying galaxy formation and evolution.
