NGC 1007
NGC 1007 is a spiral galaxy located approximately 40 million light-years away in the constellation Phoenix. It was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834 and is part of the Lyon-Meudon Extragalactic Database.
This galaxy has a diameter of about 50,000 light-years and is classified as a type Sc spiral galaxy. NGC 1007 contains a mix of young and old stars, along with regions of active star formation, making it an interesting object for astronomers studying galaxy evolution.
