NAFLD
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a condition where excess fat builds up in the liver without the influence of alcohol consumption. It is often associated with obesity, diabetes, and high cholesterol levels. NAFLD can lead to inflammation and damage to the liver, potentially progressing to more severe liver diseases.
There are two main types of NAFLD: simple fatty liver, which usually does not cause serious health issues, and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), which involves inflammation and can lead to liver scarring. Early detection and lifestyle changes, such as diet and exercise, are crucial for managing NAFLD.
