NASH
NASH, or Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis, is a liver condition characterized by inflammation and damage caused by fat accumulation in the liver, without excessive alcohol consumption. It is considered a more severe form of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) and can lead to serious complications, including liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer.
The exact cause of NASH is not fully understood, but it is often associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. Diagnosis typically involves blood tests, imaging studies, and sometimes a liver biopsy to assess the extent of liver damage and inflammation.
