NADRA
NADRA, or the National Database and Registration Authority, is a government agency in Pakistan responsible for maintaining the national database of citizens. It was established in 2000 to streamline the process of issuing identity cards and to ensure accurate record-keeping of the population. NADRA plays a crucial role in national security and governance by providing essential services related to identity verification.
The agency issues various forms of identification, including the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), which is mandatory for citizens over 18 years old. NADRA also facilitates voter registration and helps in the implementation of social welfare programs by providing data on eligible beneficiaries.
