Nínive
Nínive was an ancient city located on the eastern bank of the Tigris River in present-day Iraq. It served as the capital of the Assyrian Empire and was one of the largest cities of its time. Nínive is known for its impressive architecture, including the grand Ziggurat of Nínive and the famous Ishtar Gate.
The city is also significant in historical texts, particularly in the Bible, where it is mentioned in the Book of Jonah. Nínive was a center of trade and culture, flourishing until its fall in the 7th century BCE, which marked the decline of the Assyrian Empire.
