Myriapod
A myriapod is a type of arthropod that includes creatures like millipedes and centipedes. They are characterized by having many body segments, each typically with one or two pairs of legs. Myriapods are found in various habitats, primarily in moist environments, and play important roles in the ecosystem by decomposing organic matter.
Myriapods have elongated bodies and can range in size from a few millimeters to over 30 centimeters long. They are primarily detritivores, feeding on decaying plant material, although some, like centipedes, are carnivorous and hunt other small animals. Their unique body structure and ecological roles make them fascinating members of the animal kingdom.
