Muscle Movements
Muscle movements are actions produced by the contraction and relaxation of muscles in the body. There are three main types of muscle tissue: skeletal, smooth, and cardiac. Skeletal muscles are responsible for voluntary movements, such as walking or lifting objects, while smooth muscles control involuntary actions, like digestion. Cardiac muscle is specialized for the heart's pumping action.
Muscle movements can be categorized into different types, including flexion, extension, abduction, and adduction. Flexion decreases the angle between body parts, while extension increases it. Abduction moves a limb away from the body, and adduction brings it closer. These movements work together to enable a wide range of physical activities.
