Muscicapa Striata
The Muscicapa striata, commonly known as the Spotted Flycatcher, is a small bird found across Europe and parts of Asia. It typically measures about 14-15 cm in length and has a brownish-grey plumage with subtle streaks on its breast. This bird is known for its distinctive hunting style, often perching quietly before darting out to catch insects in mid-air.
Spotted Flycatchers prefer open woodlands, gardens, and parks, where they can easily find food. They are migratory birds, traveling to Africa during the winter months. Their song is a series of soft, melodious notes, which can often be heard during the breeding season.
