Muar satay
Muar satay is a popular Malaysian dish originating from the town of Muar in Johor. It consists of skewered and grilled meat, typically chicken or beef, marinated in a blend of spices and served with a rich peanut sauce. The meat is cooked over an open flame, giving it a smoky flavor that enhances its taste.
In addition to the meat, Muar satay is often accompanied by side dishes such as cucumber, onion, and rice cakes called ketupat. This dish is commonly enjoyed as a street food snack or during festive occasions, making it a beloved culinary staple in Malaysia.
